Cairns Cyclones Inline Hockey

  beat the heat

Membership Info

Cairns Cyclones has been operating as an unincorporated association, under the umbrella of the Cairns Roller Sports Association Inc and Skate Queensland, since its inception around a decade ago.  In 2014 we incorporated as Cairns Cyclones Inline Hockey Club Inc.

All our members are subscribed as Skate Queensland members, who provide our players and club with full insurance coverage.

There are different levels of membership - development and competitive - depending on whether a member will be participating at a competitive level at organised tournaments throughout the year.  Cairns Cyclones memberships are due annually, with payment plans available.  We also encourage eligible parents of under 18s to apply for the Get Started grant to assist with the cost of annual membership.   Just click on the icon above for more information.

Membership should be completed within the first three weeks of play to ensure insurance coverage.   Please see one of the coaches, committee members or Skate Centre staff if you need assistance.

All members are also required to sign a club code of conduct which requires players to uphold a certain level of sportsmanship, respect and fair play whilst representing the club and participating in club activities.

We encourage all interested parents and others involved or interested to become associate members of the Cairns Cyclones to ensure the long term support, viability and growth of inline hockey in Cairns, Australia and the world!

The Cairns Cyclones Inline Hockey Club trains and plays all games at the Cairns Skating Centre, 44 Behan St, Manunda in the heart of Cairns.

The Cairns Skating Centre is a community managed rink that was originally created to be purpose built for inline hockey and figure skating training and competitions, as well as to provide a space for the general public to enjoy the fun of putting some skates on.

The rink has stood the test of time to continue to be a place where locally bred national and international inline hockey champions have learned, trained and played hockey at for nearly two decades now.

Rink fees are payable for each training/games session, currently at a cost of $10 per session.  And don't worry if you don't own a pair of inline skates, they can be hired for an extra $4.  The Club can also provide a loan of all hockey equipment until you get your own.

In addition to rink fees, annual membership fees are payable to Cairns Cyclones Hockey Club Inc.  Membership forms are required to be filled out before attending a session to ensure  insurance coverage, and payment is required after attending three training sessions.  Forms can be obtained from one of the coaches at the session.  For renewing members, forms and payment are required during the first three weeks of training each year.

Please see one of the Cairns Skating Centre staff, call them on 07 4053 5353, or visit their website at for more info on general skate sessions, enquiries about hockey training times, use of equipment or just to find out more about inline hockey.

For new players to the sport, attending general skate sessions is a great way to improve your skating skills.  There are a range of learn to skate sessions available, with info regularly posted on the Cairns Skating Centre facebook page about these.  Hockey becomes a lot more fun when you're not so worried about falling down!
